Hi there folks. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying 2016 so far. With regards to art, you might see something from me by the end of the week or beginning of next week. I've been working very hard on several things. I normally do not use my DA journal to ask for help, but in this case I'll ask. One of my friends, Eric, is going through rough times health wise. He is a veteran and veterans in the United States, for the most part, do not get treated well. If you could contribute some money towards his cause , even if it is a little, he would greatly appreciate it. You can contribute anonymously and you don't have to mention me. Even if you don't contribute money, if you share his story on any social media site( such as facebook), it would help a lot. You can read information about him and his health issues here( Thanks in advance)-

So it's been over a year since I last updated my journal and I do have my own reasons for not really wanting to write journals. However, I had a change of heart and decided that I might write a couple more before the year is over. Although I have not posted art with regularity on DA, I've actually been drawing tons of stuff:)! The next few submissions will definitely be varied( i.e. abstract, science fiction, and portrait related). You will definitely see something new by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. On the subject of portraits, I actually found that randomly sketching people from youtube videos was very helpful. I hope that everyone is doing well. Cheers:)!

Wow, it's been forever since I have updated my journal. I hope everyone is doing well. Regarding my art, I hope to be submitting something again really soon. I've been working with pencils for the last several months and it was a good experience for me to try to improve my skills. I'll try to update my journal a bit more this year. You will be seeing a variety of art from this year including abstract, surreal, horror, and portrait drawings. I'm also waiting on a couple of my good DA friends to finish their part of a collaboration which I started.

It's been a while, so time for an update. First and foremost, I must give a special thanks to the incredibly nice individual who has given me a DA membership for the last two months. I wish I knew who this anonymous person was so that I could properly thank him/her. I honestly don't know what I did to deserve it, but thanks:)! So regarding my
artwork, chances are you will see something really soon. I know it's been forever since I last submitted a deviation, but I feel I have improved my style a bit the last few months
and hopefully my next few deviations will be reflective of that. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Fall so far. Cheers!

Wow, it's been forever since I last updated my journal:). I hope that everyone is doing well. Here's an update on my art. I have not added anything to my gallery recently and I have reasons for that. The fact of the matter is in the last several months, I have tried to improve upon my drawing skills( it didn't help that I was completely under the weather for a couple of weeks). I feel I am close to being comfortable again to submit something so perhaps you might see actual art in the next couple of weeks or so. Hopefully, this year, you will see a variety of different kinds of drawings from me, both original and photo referenced. This includes abstract, surreal, science fiction, portraits, animals, and a couple of collaborations as well. Cheers:)!

Hi there folks. I hope everyone is doing well. Time for a bit of an update. I apologize for the lack of art submissions, although I am working on several compositions. I am trying to revamp my style some more. In addition to abstract/surreal art, I'm also working on drawings of animals, machinery, and people( including pencil portraits of Michael Fassbender, Gong Li, Sasha Grey, and :iconoctoberrainne:. She is stunningly beautiful and I hope my drawing does justice to her). I'll try putting something up in the next couple of weeks or so. Cheers!

Hi there folks. I hope that everyone is doing well. Sometime next week, I will finally put up my collaboration project with the mega talented :iconlucarossimartini:.  I am just going to be adding minor touches here and there this week. His half is absolutely brilliant and gorgeous( your jaw will drop when you see his section) . I really have not thought of a title for the piece, but I will definitely discuss it with him( apologies for taking so long on it). I am also working on several abstract pieces and a lot of pencil portraits( including Michael Fassbender and Kaya Scodelario). I have also started drawing insects and planes. Expect to see new compositions in the coming months. Cheers!

Hi there folks. I hope that everyone is doing well. So today, I finally finished jury duty. Because of the time taken serving as a grand juror, I have
been way behind my art. So, I have a lot of catching up to do. I did manage to work on a small abstract piece during jury duty breaks. I'll try to
submit that sometime next week. In February, I'll try to finally put up my collaboration with the mega talented :iconlucarossimartini:, which I am still
working hard at. I'm also working on several pencil portraits, including one of :iconoctoberrainne:. Oh, and I am super excited about Van
Halen's upcoming album "A Different Kind Of Truth".

Hi there folks. I hope that everyone is doing well.  As this will be my last journal for the year, I did want to wish everyone Happy Holidays. I hope that 2012 will be a great year for all of you. I will finally be submitting something new this month. It will be a collaboration I have been working hard at with :iconlucarossimartini:. His half was stunning to say the least:wow:. I only hope my part of the drawing will look half as good. As far as pencil drawings, I have been practicing a lot and have been getting great advice on how to improve my portraits so you might or might not see one this month. I'm in no rush though. I will be doing some more work on my Sasha Grey portrait and I just started on a portrait of Michael Fassbender. By the way, he is an amazing actor and I'm really looking forward to seeing "Shame" and "A Dangerous Method". Cheers!

Hi there folks. I hope everyone is doing well. I do apologize for my lack of new art submissions, but I have been ultra busy with other things. I will try submitting soon.I am also trying to improve my technique. I am happy to say that I think I am evolving as far as pencil is concerned. It's a medium I am discovering again. I have to say I am now curious to see what David Fincher does with his version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". I have read the original book and seen the Swedish version( both the theatrical and extended versions) and enjoyed them. For those curious, this is the trailer for the upcoming US version-www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zyj2Qb…

Hi folks! I hope everyone is well and enjoying the Summer. Regarding my art, at some point you will see a revised version of my latest drawing, "Aftermath". To be perfectly honest, I was not 100% satisfied with it at the time I submitted it. I will not resubmit it as a deviation, but rather edit the current drawing( and in the description, identify it as the revised version)  with the much improved( in my humble opinion, it will be significantly better) version, which I am still working on. I do appreciate the suggestions that I have gotten on it from other artists. Thanks. As far as new drawings, I think I will wait till September before I start submitting my portraits which I have been working hard at. First up will be a drawing of Sasha Grey, which is turning out to be my best portrait. I might submit an abstract piece sometime this month. I'm still in experimental mode. Plus, I'm ultra busy with lots of other compositions/projects. Cheers!

Hi there folks. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer. Time for an update. I'm going to be specific as to what you will be seeing from me in the future. Next week, I'll be putting up a science fiction composition called "Aftermath". I really worked very hard on it and tried new ballpoint pen techniques on the drawing. I'm also in the middle of a horror composition called "The Abyss", which is completely over-the-top. As far as pencil portraits are concerned, hopefully I will put one up in a couple of weeks. Portraits I am currently working on include Dita Von Teese, Gong Li, Megan Fox, Aya Sugimoto, and Sasha Grey. I am also in the process of working on collaborations with a few artists. So, I finally got a chance to see "Sucker Punch", which I missed seeing at the theaters. It's an extremely entertaining film which mixes genres and has truly amazing visuals. Awesome soundtrack too.

Hi there folks. I hope all is well with everyone. Time for a little update. I will be submitting new artwork really soon. Perhaps, this week or the week after. I am working on several projects/compositions/collaborations right now. Needless to say, I'm quite excited and happy about art right now. It's an enjoyable and satisfying process creating something and I feel that I am genuinely progressing with pencils after such a long time. Thanks again for all those who gave me advice on pencils. I do appreciate it.

Hi folks. I hope that everyone is doing well. Time for an update. I'll be submitting some new art very soon. First up will be a political drawing called "The Fascist" and then a science fiction drawing called "Aftermath". Both are being done with ballpoint pen on paper. As far as my upcoming pencil portraits are concerned, I'm still not quite satisfied so you might or might not see one soon. If anyone is interested in doing a traditional art collaboration with me, please note me on DA and we will discuss it. Collaborations are fun to do and they help an artist get out of a creative funk:).

Hi there folks. I hope that everyone is doing well. I'm still experimenting with pencils and at some point this month I will put up another portrait or two. I'm also working on a couple of completely indulgent/ over-the-top detailed ballpoint pen drawings which I hope you will get a kick out of( I'm having a lot of fun drawing them!:)). I also plan on doing a couple of collaboration with a few artists. It seems that these days I'm looking around the internet to get inspired by other people's artwork. One artist you definitely have to check out is Takato Yamamoto. He is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Please note that his imagery tends to be on the mature side so viewer discretion advised. On the movie front, I'm going to try to see "Sucker Punch", although I have heard mixed things about it...at least I'll know it will deliver on the visual front. The last movie I saw was "Drive Angry 3D", which was pure cinematic enjoyment and featured yet another wonderful performance by the lovely and talented Amber Heard.

Hi there folks. I hope that everyone is doing well. First and foremost, I wanted to thank everyone for their advice and suggestions regarding pencils in my last journal. It was a huge help to me. I picked up many pencils including Staedlers, Faber Castells, and Derwents. It's fascinating how different all of the quality pencils are. Anyway, to be perfectly blunt, drawing in pencils is like learning to ride a bicycle for the first time for me because I have not used pencils on a consistent basis in ages. I'm still trying to get the feel for pencils. Unlike pen, I have the ability to correct mistakes in the portraits I am drawing so I am lot a more obsessive about form and detailing. I am also slightly favoring the darker grays over the purer blacks for some reason. At some point this month, I do plan on submitting one of my portraits. Again, I am kind of rusty right now with regards to pencils, but I am sincerely trying. Does this mean I am abandoning pens? Absolutely not. I still love pens, but I think I'll be using pencils for portraits and realistic subject matter from now on.

Hi folks. I hope that everyone is doing well. I'm working on many compositions at the moment, but I wanted to ask for a little help. I draw mainly with ballpoint pens and have not used graphite pencils in many years. I am looking for quality HB, B, 2B, 3B, and 6B pencils. Can anyone recommend a high quality brand of graphite pencil to me? The reason I ask is because I would like to start using pencils again for sketching/drawing portraits. I have gotten input from a couple of other artists, but would like to get some more input. Any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated by me.
