This is the final day for contest entries. There will be no more extensions beyond today. I have been pleased with the amount of submissions I have received so far. I will judge the entries myself and will reveal the winners in a couple of weeks. Thanks for those who have participated. Good luck to all of you.
MAIN CONTEST INFORMATION
Alright, folks. Here is the contest information. I thought very hard for this one. As some of you out there know, I am a huge fan of the horror genre so yes, this will concern horror related artwork. It's a dark, cold, rainy night. You are lost and the only sign of existence is a large house. As you are exhausted, sick, and hungry, you decide to take a chance and attempt to enter the house. You knock frantically, but no one seems to be around. The door suddenly opens and you enter. To your surprise, the interior of the house is pristine and lush and all the lights are on. The decor is opulent, exotic, and grand. There is a dinner table with food and wine. Obviously famished and thirsty, you do not think twice about eating and drinking. Afterwards, you look around and see if anyone else is present. The clock strikes midnight. There is a long staircase leading up. While upstairs, you hear a noise. A faint voice whispering your name. You are, of course, cautious and grab a knife. The voice becomes louder and louder as you advance forward. You stop moving and the voice ceases. After breathing a sigh of relief, you hear a grotesque and terrifying scream coming from a door directly in front of you. Curiosity gets the better of you and armed with a knife, you decide to investigate. You open the door, and looking in immediate shock and dropping the knife, you see...
Now then, what exactly do you see that shocks you? This contest is a really an exercise in human nature in addition to the horror element. If I am being overly and intentionally vague, that is the idea. Using your own visual style, come up with an illustration depicting the source of your fright in the room. Now then, there are several different scenarios you can come with. Was it a murder or suicide you saw? Was it a monster, ghost, or maniac you saw? Is it something psychological or perhaps something physical? I'm just throwing out a few ideas for you folks. You can be as explicit or subtle as you want to be. You can use any traditional, photographic, or digital art medium. Try to keep in mind the setting when you do this. One entry per person please. If you have any questions, you can DA note me. Deadline is May 15, 2008. No extensions beyond that date. That's more than enough time. Please, please, please...take your time and think about it before committing a submission. I expect a full 100% effort. Regarding the free ballpoint pen commission drawing, I will draw anything the winner asks me draw. Look around my gallery and see what type of composition appeals to you.

It's so easy to fall in love but hard to find someone who will catch you.

The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above-average drivers.

For pure will, unassuaged of purpose, delivered from the lust of result, is every way perfect.
